At the heart of Matthews Town Club stands the Members’ Bar, the social center of the Club. The climate-controlled space is warmed during cooler months by a central fireplace, beside which intimate pub-style booth seating provides a comfortable setting for conversation, friendly card games, and relaxed fellowship. The bar maintains a well-appointed selection of refreshments, including draft beer, an extensive assortment of spirits, and instant hot and chilled spring water, along with a rotating selection of canned beverages, mixers, and juices. Non-alcoholic options are also available.

A favored gathering place of the membership, the Veranda offers covered open-air seating overlooking the Southern Lawn & Gardens and sits conveniently adjacent to the motor court. A service window set within the Club’s signature Dutch door connects the Veranda to the Members’ Bar, allowing refreshments to be served seamlessly outdoors. Soft string lighting overhead creates a warm evening atmosphere, while a ground-mounted retractable privacy screen, mobile planter screens, and outdoor drapery allow the entire space to be screened from street view when desired.

An intimate interior space where members may enjoy televised sporting events, quiet conversation, or an evening drink in understated comfort. Generous seating arranged around a central table invites relaxed conversation, while a modest member library provides a thoughtfully assembled collection for quieter moments.

The Solarium offers a quiet retreat for correspondence, conversation, or brief respite between gatherings. The flexible space may also accommodate mobile viewing arrangements for major sporting events.

Adjacent to the Club Kitchen, the Formal Dining Room provides a comfortable setting for shared meals and intimate gatherings among members. The room offers a relaxed yet refined atmosphere suited to seasonal dinners, celebrations, and convivial evenings around the table.

The Club Kitchen serves as the operational center of the dining program. Meals are prepared under the guidance of the Club’s Executive Chef, whose professional experience includes service in Michelin-recognized kitchens and notable dining establishments abroad.

For lighter fare, the Club offers a Members’ Snack Bar located within the Members’ Bar. The snack bar provides casual refreshments suited to relaxed evenings and informal gatherings, including classic grill-style offerings and frozen beverages.

The Garden Grill offers a relaxed open-air complement to the Club’s indoor dining spaces. The adjoining pavilion provides shaded seating beneath string lighting, while a wood-burning heater and tabletop fire feature allow members to enjoy outdoor dining year-round.

Just beyond the Veranda, the Southern Lawn & Gardens provide a welcoming setting for outdoor gatherings and relaxed afternoons among members. The lawn also serves as the Club’s signature croquet pitch.

Arrival at Matthews Town Club is made through the Club’s motor court, which comfortably accommodates up to six vehicles. Additional street and public parking is available nearby in downtown Matthews.

Members wishing to extend their stay may make use of the Club’s overnight accommodations. Three guest chambers are available: the Charleston Room, the Heritage Room, and the Stumptown Suite, which features a private en-suite bath.
